Lemelson was born Gregory M. Lemelson in Phoenix, Arizona, the son of Larry R. and Katerina C. Lemelson. While an undergraduate at Seattle University, Lemelson met Jesuit Fr. Robert Spitzer, SJ, a prominent Jesuit philosopher and former President of Gonzaga University.
